Child nightmare is a common thing that every child experiences prior to the age of six.
Children suffer more frequent nightmares than their parents.
Child nightmare diminishes as children grow older and gain more control over their world.
Most of the child nightmares are a normal part of coping with changes in their lives.
Child nightmare is a reaction particularly to upsetting events, situations and relationships.
It is a natural response to a threatening experience in the child’s life. Terrifying nightmares often follow such traumas as, a fight with a child, death, a serious illness and so on.
Child nightmare verses night terror:
Child nightmare occurs during rapid eye movement (REM) phase of sleep. Child nightmares vary in length and the child will usually remember what the nightmare was about.
Your child will also afraid of night terrors. Night terrors affect approximately 3 percent of all children. Night terrors will happen about an hour or two after the child has gone to sleep.
They will happen during the non-REM part of sleep. The child falls asleep even though his eyes are wide open. When the child awakens he will have no memory of it.
Co sleeping or sharing a bed with your infant is not recommended in United States.
But studies have shown that co sleeping with a breastfeeding infant supports bonding and regulates the sleeping patterns of you and your baby.
Affect of co sleeping on your baby:

- Co sleeping helps your baby to fall asleep more quickly especially during the first few months and when they wake up in the middle of the night.
- It also helps your baby to get more nighttime sleep without any disturbances.
- Co sleeping encourages physiological regulation. It may also help to prevent SIDS by preventing the infant from entering into deep sleep states.
- Your baby can get more care giving. Co sleeping with infants also gets more attention and protective care.
- There are some long term benefits for your baby due to co sleeping. Infants between birth and five years of age had significantly high self-esteem and experienced less guilt and anxiety.
Why some mothers choose co sleeping?
- Co sleeping encourages breastfeeding by making nighttime breastfeeding more convenient.
In health the baby face is expressive of serenity in mind and body.
If your child becomes unwell, this expression will be changed, and in a manner which, to a certain extent, will indicate what part of the system is at fault.
The brows on your baby face will be contracted, if there is pain and seat is in the head.
This is often the very first outcome if there is anything being wrong, and will occur at the very beginning of disease.
If proper remedies are used, its notice may prevent one of the most fearful of childish complaints “water in the head”.
If this disease is untreated, it is very dangerous to your child health. The symptoms of this disease are:
- The eyes will become fixed and staring
- The head becomes very hot and moved uneasily from side to side upon the pillow

- Grinding teeth in the sleep
- Awake alarmed and screaming
- Baby face will be flushed, especially the cheeks

This makes baby bath easier and safer.
Preparing for your baby bath:
The list of things you have to prepare for baby bath include, water, washcloth, alcohol pads, bath towel, clean diaper, any items you routinely use during a diaper change and fresh clothes. For little circumcised boys you have to use Vaseline and gauze squares during the diaper change.
Fill the baby bath tub with warm water about five inches or enough to allow your baby to settle in the water with his shoulders well covered. Always test the water with your wrist or elbow. The water should comfortably warm but not too hot i.e. about 38 degrees centigrade. Make sure you have everything you need for your baby bath.
You can use gentle pH-neutral cleaners or mild soap and cotton balls designed especially for baby bath. Use special baby wash and baby shampoo, it is better to use natural ones with calendula oils. Do not use regular soaps and shampoos since they can be too harsh or drying.
