5 Effective Ways to Travel with a Newborn

Travelling with a baby can be tough if you don’t know what to take and how much to lug around with you, when on that much needed holiday. Before, travelling with a newborn you need to take care and make a checklist of all the essentials that you must to carry.

If it’s an infant, travelling becomes a challenging task instead of a fun venture. No matter how much you try to pack in everything that is essential, you still end up forgetting something or the other. To avoid this mishap, here are a few tips to help you out while travelling with your new born.

1. Plan in advance

It doesn’t matter whether you used to make spontaneous travelling plans before you had a baby, but after, need to plan way ahead of your travel. Planning spontaneously is one of the biggest reasons you are unable to get hold of everything that your baby needs during travel. 2. Make list

Before you start packing, make a list of all the things that you need to pack for your baby, so that you don’t have to rush at the last moment. Start making the list from a couple of weeks before heading out, so that you don’t miss out on anything indispensable during the trip.

3. Pack the essentials instead of stuffing

In order to carry all that’s needed for the baby, and make sure that nothing falls short, we always tend to over pack, making travelling feel like a burden. You need to keep in mind that only essentials are to be packed. These pointers will help to pack less:

  • Keep two sets of clothes per day (neither more nor less)
  • Keep a mini diaper bag set which has wiping tissues, diapers, feeding bottle and a changing mat.
  • Keep the daily use products like shampoo, soap, lotions or powders in a mini kit. If possible keep miniatures of each.

4. No need for bassinet

A baby bed can be easily avoided while travelling. There’s already so much that you need to carry anyway so it won’t hurt to skip the baby crib. You can adopt co-sleeping with your baby while traveling.

5. A carry-on bag is a must

Even though you have packed all the baby essentials separately, you should still prepare a carry-on bag to carry with you all the times which has essentials like wipes, diapers, feeding bottles, baby food, your baby’s favorite toy and a set of clothing which your baby might need at any instant. You cannot open your bag every time your baby needs something. So make sure to prepare a carry-on bag before heading off, for your as well as for the baby’s comfort.
