Autism In Babies Can Occur In Three Areas Of Behavior!

autismBasically, autism is a developmental disorder that affects your child from birth to early months of life. This disorder occurs in three areas of behavior such as: interactions and social relationships, interests and activities, language and communication.

When your child gets affected with all these three stages of development and at a severe level when compared with normal changes in ordinary children, then the typical pattern of autism gets clear.

The main cause of autism:

The main cause of autism is still unknown. Some experts said that autism is due to the damage to the brain, possibly prenatally. The factors responsible for autism include:

  • Metabolic disorders
  • Perinatal anoxia
  • Viral agents
  • Immune intolerance
  • Genetic abnormalities
  • Chromosomal abnormalities

These factors also result in some other handicapping conditions that tell why babies with autism have additional learning disorders. If women consumes alcohol during pregnancy, it can lead to autism in their babies.

Parental concern with autism:

Basically, babies with autism vary based on the individual’s personality and abilities and are affected by their environment. The signs and symptoms of autism in early stage are subtle and vague.

Most of the times, you can recognize that your baby is different from others of same age but you are unable to articulate this difference. The most common symptoms recognized in infancy include: gaze, hearing and play.

Gaze: Avoiding eye contact is considered as a characteristic in children with autism. There is less importance to this feature when compared to abnormal quality of gaze. Most of the infants do not appear to see people and they may not look people in the eye. But, a baby with autism, the gaze is likely to be concise and beyond the corner of eye.

Hearing: Individualities of hearing appear to be more significant. In most of the cases infants with autism are suspected as deaf during their early stage of development. Few of them actually have hearing loss; however they may not react to their name and seem to be unchanged by any audible changes in the environment.

Play and social activity: In young infants, social activity and play are closely related to each other. But, most of the times, parents may not recognize that their child is odd. Children with autism cannot show any interest on plays that most of the children like to play, like the plays that involve interaction with parents.

Before going to diagnose the condition, you need to wait until your child is 2-3 years old, whether he/she has the mysterious developmental disabilities. If your family already has an autistic child, then there are 5-10% higher chances of another child to born with the same disability.
