Alanis Morissette delivered a baby boy six weeks ago and decided to share her happiness with her fans on Facebook and Twitter. The Jagged Little Pill singer and husband Mario ‘Souleye’ Treadway who had a baby boy, named him Imre Ever on Christmas Day, posted baby pictures of the family on Facebook and Twitter.
The photo of the happy family was entitled simply “Amazing” on Facebook – over 700 comments gave best wishes to the couple and on Twitter, Morissette claimed to be moved “beyond words”, grateful and “so in love with my new nuclear family.”
And it isn’t just celebrities who are using social networking tools to connect with fans directly, on a one to one basis.
Increasingly, other people as well, are using social medial and online networking platforms such as Twitter, Myspace, Facebook, and so on to tell others about their new bundle of joy so that family and friends can share in their happiness easily.
Whereas earlier, baby pictures meant taking prints and physically mailing them to friends and family, now it’s just a few mouse clicks and you can share images literally with hundreds of people, getting immediate responses effortlessly and at no cost.
