Well, I can say with 100% certainty that there is such thing as a breast milk allergy as I was allergic as all hell to it. I can assure you that it wasn't milk protein crossing over as she was made aware of the possibility and thus eliminated it from her diet for several weeks, all other foods that it could be were eliminated as she removed them from her diet for 2-3 weeks. It wasn't soap or chemical in nature, and she wasn't on any medication. So after six long weeks it was determined that I actually was allergic to it and needed to be switched to formula.

I actually had to be given a sedative as I was switched to formula because my digestive tract was so used to going into spasms at even the first hint of anything that it would react automatically. To this day I have stomach issues because those first six weeks of my life really did do an exceptional amount of harm to my body. I have have become increasingly ill over the years due to gastrointestinal issues which, at 21 years of age, have resulted in more than one surgery and basically the blandest diet possible, and why? Because the doctors who saw to me at first were so obsessed with breast feeding that they couldn't figure out something as simple as an allergy.
