Baby Development From 6 To 12 Months

baby development2A period of rapid growth for your baby, you will observe various changes for the next months in your baby’s life as he gains new skills and learns more about the world.

While there is a general growth curve for children of this age, remember that each baby’s development will not be the same. If you think your baby’s development is not up to the mark, contact a pediatrician for a second opinion.

Baby development during 7th and 8th months:

By this stage, your baby will be able to move for some distance. While he won’t be able to crawl, your baby will try to find another way of reaching the desired destination. Some babies scoot along with the help of their bottoms and push themselves backwards by staying on their tummies, roll or raise their knees and hands and then droop forward.

These are the initial crawling movements. Generally, the baby will grow from crawling to dragging up and then walking. The baby’s age and the kind of the movement the baby uses will greatly vary from each child.

When your baby reaches the eighth month, he should be able to sit well with your help and able to sit on his own. Don’t be surprised if your baby sits in his crib[baby crib] and welcomes you with a giant smile when you enter his room and he welcomes you with a giant smile.

Baby development during 9th and 10th months:

At this stage, the baby’s menu starts to broaden and he starts to show great interest towards various types of foods. Your baby will probably also get three to four teeth, which means you can feed him foodstuff that is labeled for the second stage. These foods consist of soft lumps and have a smooth texture.

Some babies can also handle table foods, but you should be very vigilant when changing to a new level of foodstuff. If there is a history of allergies in your family, then it is best to delay the foods that cause allergies like wheat or egg products. Introducing solid foods is not essential at this stage, and keep breast milk or formula milk as your baby’s staple food.

This is also the right time for crawling. You will find that your little baby loves to move around the furniture: this is because once he learns to sit up on his own; he sees the furniture as a helpful device to pull itself up to stand.

Your baby will also grow increasingly curious about how things function, so give him age-related toys and continue talking or singing to him/her.

Baby development during 11th and 12th months:

Having spent a year getting to know the world, by the time your baby approaches his first birthday, he will attempt to take a few steps.

Your baby should also be able to eat simple finger foods by himself. Avoid giving your baby foods that cause hazards like peanut butter, grapes, nuts, hard candles and hot dogs. Show your baby educational CDs and videos that play fun songs which encourage the child to move about to the rhythm.

When the first birthday arrives, you will probably want to celebrate it in style, but don’t forget that your baby is still very small and will be overwhelmed by too much celebration. Also, don’t forget to take pictures and videos and store all the memories.
