Health issues? anxiety attacks? where is this information from, I can't see this method causing these types of problems, seeing as how it has been working since the 1800's.

modifying the Ferber method works best. you start at ONE minute, then THREE and FIVE and etc. not leaving them in there for 15 minutes as u suggest on the third night.

Modified Ferber method, Start your interval times out small and change them in 2 minute times, also re position your child and comfort them when whatever noise and patting on the back/bottom, just dont pick them up from out of the crib.

While the first night you may be wanting to rush in there, just stay strong, you are only starting out at one minute. if you keep a proper routine in the evening bath food bed whatever order you have, your child will be tired anyway and the process wont take forever.

Ferber for the first night, don't quit, do it until the baby goes to sleep, THIS IS THE HARDEST NIGHT!

PS whoever wrote this is misinforming you on the subject, giving you no alternatives, and claiming this causes medical problems. WOW! you fail internet blog artist.
I am typing this after scouring the web for info, making a plan on my own, then reading this crap 20 minutes after my son fell asleep on his own, without me holding him, in his crib. I win, you lose.
